Opposites attract???

My boyfriend and I are basically the complete opposite. I am a carefree country girl. I am a child at heart and I am also Catholic. I have very strong views and family means a lot to me and someday I hope to get married, move to the country, have some farm animals and have a big family. He is a city boy who is all business. He doesn't really believe in religion or marriage. He believes that you should just move in with someone and live together and never get married. I don't believe any of that. We have been dating for almost 6 months so not really that long and I am in no way thinking of marrying him right now. But as our relationship progresses I don't want to get hurt. I've mentioned this to him and he just says we are just having fun right now. I don't really know how to approach any of this and I don't know what I should do. Are any of you the complete opposite? Is it working out for you? Advice would be great.

I'd think it through properly. Simply because he said its just fun right now.. so when will it ever be more than fun?

Honestly, I wouldn't waste anymore time on him. There's a chance that you might change his mind with marriage but then there's a chance you won't. The longer you go on with him the more it will hurt if things don't go the way you want.

My fiancee is my opposite i wouldnt say polar opposite but were def different. Hes more outspoken wen it comes to speaking his mind were i just stay quiet. But throughout dating i was always looking for THE ONE i knew wat i wanted and i was looking for nothing less. My big deal breakers were i want kids lots of kids lol and im family oriented and i want to get married. No is going to b the same as their SO but i think that u and ur partner should have the same goals in life wen it comes to things that r important u it makes i think it makes ur relationship that much stronger

Dating a complete opposite is fun and exciting and new. However, anything past dating is usually asking at least one partner to compromise something that makes up the core of who they are. Have fun and move on. You don't want to change your life goals for him and you'll feel bad if you change the man you love.

No definitely move on. So many red flags here. You can't change a person, so the fact that he doesn't want to get married and just wants to have fun shouldn't appeal to you. Don't waste your time with someone who doesn't have the same "end" goal as you. The key to a perfect relationship is by having the same ideas about these things, otherwise it just cause issues down the road. Best wishes

I think you should follow your heart. Me and my s/o are complete opposites. She does want children and she didn't want to get married. But we've been together for 10 years and since then she's changed her mind and we're engaged. Sometimes when you love someone you change your views even if you're opposites. I think you should try to work it out, especially if you love him. Give it a chance. Everyone risks getting hurt in relationships but you can't let fear of getting hurt cripple you from enjoying your time with him even if it doesn't work out in the end. Live in the moment.

Stay true to who you are.  I found in my last 4 year relationship we could not both be happy without each of us giving away too much of ours dreams for eachother.  In the end it come down to who the 2 people are and what exactly they are opposite about. I do think opposites attract , for example... I am kinda shy and keep to myself while my husband is outgoing and comfortable in a crowd, my husband is outdoorsy while I would rather stay in . 
But it really sounds like you have completely different goals for life and unless you are willing to give up your dreams of marriage and family then you might want to let go and find some one with the same life goals as you. Opposites are one thing completely different goals are another...  You shouldn't try to change him but you shouldn't have to change who you are either.
