Need to vent! Long post 😔
So Friday night my boyfriend and I were talking, (we have been together for ten months today) we occasionally talk about the future and our lives together. We both want to get married and be together for the rest of our lives. Anyway during our talk, he stated that he never wants a kid. Everytime we've talked before it was "I don't want a kid until I'm at least 27-30, settled in a career and on our own" (he's got another handful of years in school) now all of a sudden it's never. He NEVER wants to be a parent. And he isn't the kind to be easily convinced once he's made up his mind.
I haven't brought up my feelings yet cuz I didn't want to ruin Valentine's Day and our anniversary. but he knows I want kids someday and I had already compromised to 7-10 years until that happens, So much to the point where I got Mirena to ease his worries of an unwanted pregnancy. My mom says to just give it time because he is only 21 and kids and all that are barely a dot on his radar but I don't want to spend years thinking he'll come around and change his mind, if that day never comes. I love him with all my heart but the idea of not having a child, especially with a man whose children I would love to birth and raise, breaks my heart.
