What's the thoughts of trying for one sex or the other

Hi ladies,

So I've been reading on trying to conceive one sex or the other and if anything I'd really love to have a little girl first! My husband would of course love a boy. I've read that male sperm swim faster but die quicker then female sperm. So if I wanted to try for a girl I would assume I would want to have sex before I ovulate. I guess the question is how long before ovulation should I have sex? Ladies any success story's?
