Rape culture

I recently read a news article about two young men who raped a young woman. The news article went on for almost two pages about how it's sad that the men involved had sacrificed their football careers and college scholarships by being caught and admitting what they had done. There wasn't a single paragraph about how the woman in the situation was, or if she was recovering. What are your thoughts about this and what it teaches the children of future generations?
