New to this whole Thing

Okay so my period was supposed to start today. Yesterday I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. Last night I started spotting brown blood, which is strange to me because I never spot before a period. So this morning it's still the same brown spotting and my basal body temp hasn't gone down its still at 98.2. So I'm not quite sure if I should test again or just expect aunt flow to show her ugly face today.
