A bit confused

A little bit of history I've been irregular all me life meaning probably 2 periods a yr. That being said last yr me and my so decided to get me checked out so we can start ttc . March my dr started me on prevera then 50mg of clomid for 5 to 9 cycle days, I didn't get pg. Started my period on my own for May and started clomid 150mg 5to 9 cycle day,let a couple 2 to 3 weeks pass took a test and bfn took 3 test with in 2 weeks apart. Well now it's going on 44 days no period, I began cramping like 4 days ago so I thought I was gonna start but still no period. Has anyone ever experienced this, idk wuts going on with my body amd it's sucks cuz I'm irregular so I never know what to expect.my dr said if I don't start my period in a week to go in to get tested agian. Is it really possible to still get pg so late in ur cycle?
