Baby or education/career

My husband is a PhD,/tenure track college professor. I am a Jr. High educator with a Masters in education. We have three children and are trying for our fourth (frustratingly on month 6). Tonight I approached him about a doctorate program in education that I am very interested in and his response was "dk you want another kid or a doctorate?" Ugh!!! He got a PhD while I birthed and raised two of his children. I feel like its a double standard.
