My body is confusing me!

I started bleeding on Tuesday which was three days earlier than my shortest cycle and a week earlier than usual. It's now stopped, there were no clots, very little cramping, less blood than usual, but it was quite red, not like the pink-brown I've heard implantation bleeding is. However the first day was more brown and quite mucusy. I know my periods really well and this was definitely odd.

I wasn't actually due on until tomorrow at the earliest - should I get my hopes up for a bfp or am I setting myself up for disappointment?
