Breastfeeding mommies?? Ovulation?? Help.

Question

This may sound silly... I am a bf mommie of a 1 yr old... and I have been off birth control for 4 months now. I get periods but they are so random. They very by a week in timing either a week early or late...and then in length... some have been 8 days long and others only 3-4 days long. Has anyone else experienced  this??

It's just odd because this didn't happen with my first 2 daughters...

Yes I've been breastfeeding for a year now and my period is just now starting to regulate!

it is because you are breastfeeding.  it is your bodies way of trying to prevent you from getting pregnant again while you have a baby nursing.  This is by no means a guarantee, you can still become pregnant, but if your nursing your chances are reduced.  I did not get a single period for a year until I weaned my first.

Yes.  It took a while for my body to regulate when I got my period back after giving birth.
