Bloody show, dilated, and effaced!
I'm 37 weeks exactly with my first baby, a week ago at my last appointment, I was 3cm dilated, 50% effaced, and had a full blown bloody show that I went to OB triage about because it was so much blood. I'm talking the first day of your period, bloody.
The nurses assured me everything was fine. The blood was caused by the losing of the mucus plug/bloody show/ thinning of my cervix causing the blood vessels to rupture. They also said I am progressing quite rapidly because my cervix is so "mushy". Completely normal for my body (since we are all different) but they also assured me this means labor is any day now...this was a week ago exactly. I've hit every single point on the checklist that says labor is any day. My baby is so low, I can hardly walk. He feels like he's going to fall out of me. My contractions have been so intense I need to sit down through them or I'm red in the face or shakey after, but they're inconsistent. What in the hell is going on? My kid is clearly being a prankster. My doctors are shocked I've made it this long without him coming.
