What would you do?

Question

Long story short I had complications where I couldn't get on my flight home. My bag was sent home though and it was in the airport a few days before my bf could pick it up for me...... SOMEONE TRIED ON MY BRAND NEW SHOES AND GOT THEM DIRTY!!! On the inside and on the outside. 
I HATE FEET! I HATE.....FEET!!!!!!!!! I can't stand the look or the smell of feet and for someone to put my damn shoes on with their stanky ass dirty ass sweaty smelly feet, it's probably one of the worst things that can happen to me after I come back home tuckered out from travelling. 
I feel like suing but my bf says I'm overreacting. I think I'm not. 
What would you do in this situation?

I wouldn't sue, that's overreacting. I would however complain to the airline about it. Its possible they can determine whether it was an employee or a random stranger. And that may prompt them to take action against the employee, or change their baggage handling policies. I'm not sure what they do with bags that can't be picked up right away, but I assume that if a random customer opened your bag, then they would consider changing how they handle bags when the customer has a flight delay.

I would politely complain to the airline. They should check that out to prevent things like that in the future.
I would probably try to hang on the line until I got some form of voucher from them as well.

I would probably just complain to the airline and then focus on cleaning the shoes (if possible). Next time get yourself a big lock lol. I always thought it was a bit paranoid to lock up bags but maybe better safe than sorry... I don't think you can sue

Don't sue, it's not worth it and you'll probably lose. Just call and complain, but be nice about it. If you seem like a jerk, they won't feel bad, but if you're kind and polite they'll be more caring and want to compensate.

Suing?  Because someone put on a pair of your shoes? How would you prove they did it? Can you evidence that the shoes were brand new and pristine when you checked the bag and in a different condition when it was collected?

ARGH I don't have that exact pet peeve, but I totally get how you feel. That's awful.

But you would have to devote WAY too much time and money to suing this company than would be justified by the crime. I agree with the previous poster who suggested you complain AND get a big fat lock.

It sucks but not worth trying to make it a legal issue. Just think.. Maybe that person was having an awful day/month and they felt beautiful trying on those shoes and made them feel good. :). Then: professionally clean or donate them to Goodwill. I left my cutest shoes at the last hotel we stayed at, and I am 100% sure they were in that room under the table, and the housekeeping dept swears they don't have them. Bet someone is wearing them right now! 😡

I think suing is a little over the top. 1. It will cost you a lot of money to sue. and 2. You VS airline would end up with you losing the case.
