Implantation bleeding

Is implantation bleeding a real thing? Some people say they have it and some don't... I went to the bathroom two days ago and had blood just when I wiped.. Then yesterday I had brown CM like stuff. So I put a tampon in thinking it was my period, but I bled for maybe 2 hours then it was done. I put a tampon in just in case and woke up this morning and nothing. I never spot like this before my period. Could this be implantation bleeding? I'm so lost. I just got off BC and my period was irregular the first time so I don't know when I ovulated. Is it possible I'm pregnant? And when can I take a test?
