VBAC?

Both labors and deliveries I have gotten to 10 and pushed. First was successful second placenta detached and I had to have emergency c section after pushing three times. I want a VBAC but my medical friends say don't do it. I'm a perfect candidate since I know I can do vaginal. Thoughts? Pros? Cons? Please share VBAC experiences.

VBAC is safer than a repeat cesarean. Some people in the medical field won't tell you that, but the chance of uterine tear or rupture is very very low. My midwife said 0.03%. Having a repeat csection gives you a 20% chance of needing a hysterectomy, a .53% chance of accreta. I'd choose VBAC any day!
Plus, you and baby are more likely to pass in a cesarean section than a VBAC.

In the maternity unit I work in up to 70%of women have a successful VBAC. Go for it! You have nothing to lose, you know you can have a caesarean if things don't go to plan.

I was a successful VBAC! My mom delivered my older brother via c-section about a year and half before having me. Considering that was almost 30 years ago and medicine has improved temendously since then, I think you will be fine!

I would say go for it as long as your OB doesn't have any major concerns :) you are right in that you are the perfect candidate and it normally just means more monitoring during labour and low threshold for C-section if things not going to plan!

It is possible to have a VBAC after a previous birth with placental abruption. You will need to find a doctor experienced in it

Thanks y'all! My OB was on board I went into labor only to get to the hospital and baby's heart rate bounced between 190-200 so we had to take him on emergency. He ended up having meconium in his waters. So sadly I ended up having a c section after all.
