Need him to be here!

I'm 36 weeks and 1 day but my baby boy is measuring at 38 weeks and 1 day. He's already 7 pounds. I've had period like cramps all day and light spotting. Called the doctor and they said it's because my SO and I had sex. I was 3 cm dilated last Tuesday and what I'm wondering is, does it sound more like early labor and should I just keep having sex to jumpstart active labor? I'm so ready for him to be here!!
