What would you do? My situation right now is less than ideal, after I had my daughter via c-section I always said I would go for a VBAC with the next baby. The issue I'm having now Is that we live in a new state and the nearest family is 4 hours so when I go into labor I have no one to watch my daughter. My mom still works full time so She can't come stay with us in hopes that I go into labor. I did find out my hospital does allow siblings in the deliver room, which is great , but she's only 2 so that  concerns me. I don't want to give up on my VBAC dream but it's looking like I may have to.

What you could do is hire a doula with the explicit job of helping your daughter through this experience and taking her out if its too much. Usually our job is just for mom but I'm sure you could find someone willing. Or is there someone willing to babysit in the middle of the night? You could offer like $300 for overnight or something wild if you are having trouble with someone commiting..

If you do go into labor you can always bring your daughter along and maybe some family can come and take her for you as well. I wouldn't just give up on vbac because of your daughter I'm sure there will nurses that can help with her. 😊

I don't understand. Your daughter is allowed in the delivery room whether you deliver vaginally or by c section, right?

Obviously having a child in the room isn't ideal but her being there shouldn't really impact your decision. Unless I'm missing something?

When r u due? I was stationed in Hawaii when I got pregnant with second baby and usually my husband n I only let family babysit but it's expensive to fly to Hawaii n I refused to birth the baby by myself. I had no friends except co workers n being military my coworkers have to work so we spent pregnancy looking for a babysitter and then getting to know them to make us more comfortable with leaving out oldest while I was in labor. It all worked out. Well husband left right when baby came out n he cut cord to go pick up his baby but it worked out. Maybe u can find someone to b available near u that can watch ur child.
