I'm 20 weeks pregnant, is it to early to buy things?

I was going to wait after my baby shower but that's in February a month before I'm due. But now I'm thinking that's kinda crazy, since mostly all they give is baby clothes and things like that. Should I go and start buying things for my baby? & like what?

Starting early allows you time to find things on sale. :) Also, we found most people didn't buy things off our registry for our showers. After the showers, we were happy we had already bought the things we really needed. It made the unexpected gifts more enjoyable.

We bought our the big items early and over time. This allowed us to spend some money each month instead of all at once. We were also able to setup the nursery early (which has been so nice to have finished). We've also bought preloved items like clothes, baby bath, stroller...buying early made it easier to wash everything and get things organized (when I still had energy...35 weeks now and have much less energy now than I did at 20 weeks).

My theory behind buying stuff early is I want to be best prepared!  I am 100% grateful for whatever I get at my baby shower but I don't want any pressure on my family or friends

Not at all! My fiance and I started buying stuff as soon as we got our bfp (3weeks 1day). That's really early, but we new if (God forbid) anything would have happened, we still wanted a baby.

But now that you're halfway there, definitely go for it! If you don't want to buy any of the big stuff just incase you recieve them at your shower, just set the money you would have used for them aside and get small stuff like clothes, essentials, ect. That way, if you didn't get all the big ticket items you needed/wanted, you still have the money. OR if you do end up getting everything you need, save that money you set aside for an emergency for after the babys born. Or, of course, buy whatever you still need/want! (:

Yes! Crib, bedding, chest/drawer, changing table  (optional), cute lil clothes you can't do without.

I scored $20 worth of springwear a couole days ago at Target...clearance section marked down to the cheap....3-6 months outfits (7).

Diapers & wipes (sizes newborn -2)

No , I've already started stacking up on diapers & Wipes . I want to not have to worry about running out of them .

Within the next two weeks I'll start shopping for clothes , such as sleepers , onesies , & socks .

Its a good idea to start getting things now. No reason to wait at this point you already know its a boy so you can shop accordingly.
