Is it normal not to be seen early?
So, I have T2 Diabetes, a history of hypertension and Pcos. I suffered a chemical pregnancy in august and have fallen pregnant again.
I have called my ob's office to schedule my first appointment. From my guess, I'm only just over 5 weeks along and really nervous and honestly expecting a loss but willing to do whatever I can here.
The ob nurse I just spoke to said they refuse to see me before 8-10 weeks and to do labs before then. I expressed concern about low progesterone and just an overall lack of counseling I have. She told me I just have to "wait it out" and see if I miscarry and if I don't they'll see me at 8 weeks at the earliest regardless of being high risk because that's "just the way we do things". When I asked what my blood sugar should be she said "moderately in control"
Is it unreasonable that I feel this is wrong? I guess I didn't know what to expect but it wasn't that. My husband just switched jobs and I don't get my new insurance until the first of the year, we purchased catastrophic coverage for me until then, this clinic is the only one I am approved to see. Any and all help is so greatly appreciated right now!
