640,000 students home from school today

Crystal
I live in Los Angeles county and woke up to multiple emails on my phone about all schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District being closed due to credible bomb threats from overseas.
The college that I attend (colleges in LA are remaining open today, as opposed to the preschools-high schools closing) is setting up emergency child care centers so that parents of these children can still take their final exams today.
I am extremely happy that LA Unified decided to close all of the schools, despite some backlash they're receiving for overreacting. What parent would want to take the chance after what we all just went through in San Bernadino with the shootings?
