"Required"
I'm curious as to what some women mean when they say they "had" to get or do something that they didn't want just becuase the on-call dr said they had to. I'm completely serious because my dr is leaving for vacation 23rd-29th and I'm due the 31st. I'm incredibly upset as i trust him so much and he's agreed and practices everything i want/have requested. I didn't want a hospital birth, its not my first and i find the hospital to be terrifying. My dr was the ONLY reason ive even felt semi ok about going. I'm worried becuase some women say that they didn't want continuous fetal monitoring, but with no emergency or reasons, the on-call OB "required" it. Like. Why not just take it off? It's a giant elastic band that's incredibly easy to remove. Or "required" to have fluids hooked up to the IV? Etc?
I'm asking because if they just threaten to make you leave, no big deal. That doesn't phase me, because I WILL just leave and go to my car. Lol
But if women mean that they were held down or something, I'm going to have to rethink everything if I go into labor during that time.
