Double Standards
This chick I use to work with has purple cornrows style and in my opinion it looks good on her. The purple is not too bright or too dark it contrasts nicely with her skin tone.
However, my friend feels like it makes her look ghetto. Yet, this is the girl who dyes her hair a bunch of colors and calls her style scene. If my ex-coworker had a lighter skin tone, her hair was straightened with the same kind of style and with the same purple color she would have been labeled emo or scene. Why do hairstyles and hair color have to be associated with certain people?
