Are my hormones strong enough to test positive?

My last period was December 4th. According to my app I'm 11 days late but I've had 2 negative pregnancy tests. Could my hormones not be strong enough to test positive?

Answer

After your missed period your hcg levels should be high enough to show positive. So after the first week of January you ideally should have had enough hcg and other pregnancy hormones to show positive on a test. In some cases I know women don't have super high hcg levels and are still pregnant. Make sure you're doing a really good receptive test and do it in the morning. But other wise I'd go to a doctor.
