Crazy Situation

So my friend has been dating this girl for 3 years. They live together and everything seemed normal. He is a former Marine who sustained an injury that left him with a high probability of infertility. The doctors told him, basically, that he PROBABLY wouldn't be able to have kids without fertility help. He says that him and his girlfriend never used contraception during their relationship.

She tells him on Monday that she's pregnant. He is super excited and that's when she says she wants to get an abortion. He pleads with her to reconsider but she won't even entertain the idea, like her mind is made up. He says he's not sure if he can carry on the relationship if she gets the abortion because he'll be so hurt. She thinks about it for 2 days and then breaks up with him, telling him to pack up and leave. He offered to take the child full time after it was born and she could sign over all rights and never see them again. She refused.

He is devastated. I don't know what to even say to him. What do you all think??
