Can you have a period but not ovulate?

Is it possible to have a period but not ovulate? We have been trying for a while and nothing ... Even having sex everyday and still negative tests ...

The two don't necessarily go hand in hand. Your period is the shedding of your uterine lining. Whereas, ovulation is when a mature egg is released from an ovary. The shedding of your uterin lining can occur without an egg being released, just as you can ovulate and not have a period. Although, usually when the latter occurs, it's a result of pregnancy.

You can ovulate from one ovary and not the other. When we were TTC our first baby I did some ovulation tests and they all came back negative. I tried not to stress about it and a few months later we were pregnant!

Yes you can but it is usually because there us an underlying reason like pcos for example. Lots of peoplw with pcos have periods but don't ovulate...
