Surgery to have "pee hole" made bigger in women?

What is the medical name for this? Has anyone had it done? Do they put you to sleep? How long do you stay in the hospital? Why do they do make it bigger? What problems come from having it be small? When I look it up, it's always about boys. Little boys. They have it done. By my best friend is a 23 year old female who is having it done. She just said "surgery to make my pee hole bigger." Not finding anything much online about it. Especially in women.

The "pee hole" is called the meatus. Sometimes it has to be expanded because it doesn't allow enough urine to pass and that can lead to uti's and other issues.

My coworker has had to have it done twice.  I'm not sure what the details are but I know it's helped with her uti's over the years

There could be scar tissue in there and that would cause the flow to be abnormal making it to where all the pee dosent come out, causing uti's bladder infections and more. There are many reason it could have  happened. They will out her to sleep and when she wakes she will be in some pain and pee blood. But all in all its not to bad. My fiance had it done last year.
