GMOs! What's your opinion?

I came across this photo this morning:

It made me want to have a good discussion on GMOs any why some of us are for them and why others are against them. What's your opinion?

I believe GMO and non organic food are the cause of many disease and health problems. I only buy non gmo and organic food and try to dine and restaurants that use high quality products. Non GMO are becoming more easily available. Even Costco sell a lot of good products. I try to inform people about the differences- a lot of people understand but some stick with the cheaper option too bad 😖 yuck! Some foods that people eat and give their kids should be illegal

I don't think there's anything wrong with GMOs we learned about them in school a while back. There's not really anything wrong with it to me.

Husband and I try SO hard to eat as clean as we can. We've always struggled with our weight, so for the last few years we've done everything in our will power to be better, healthier people. Most of the food we eat is in raw form, organic, from the farmers market, or grown in our own yard. I've never felt better about it! It's important to make life choices that impact our future, even if it's a daily challenge. So I definitely don't support GMOs, and doubt I ever would. I don't think it's fair to hide from consumers where their products come from. Abhorrent!

court has ruled that French Professor Gilles-Eric Séralini was correct when he concluded that GMO food, when fed to rats, caused serious health problems including tumors.

GMO foods literally is no different. It doesn't pose any healthy risks. Unless it's that disgusting corn stuff you have in the US 😖

The question is how GMO are we talking? Are we talking about corn that has had 1 gene crossed with a potato so that locust don't find it appealing and don't eat an entire crop?

Or are we talking about genetically modifying salmon so they grow to maturity faster and it can be raised in more crowded pools of water with other fish, all fish poopin' on each other.

That is the problem with GMO labeling. You see GMO and think evil, which can totally be true, zombie salmon. But sometimes it means I stuck this part of this plant in that one and made this one that taste better. And there is no labeling to distinguish that.

If you are pro GMO or anti GMO, you should completely support labeling. That way people who question GMOs can refrain and those that want to support can easily do so.

I'm neither. I don't want to ingest GMOs but it's not something I can afford to avoid
