Please help.....

I'm 14yrs and I'm in high school obviously. And yes I'm focusing on my grades and everything seeing as mock exams are round the corner(next week actually) 

Back to the reason, there is this guy who is in ALL my classes except PE and I wouldn't say I love him but I might say I have a small crush on him🙊 Anyways! He is always looking in my direction but I can't tell if he is looking at me or my friend who sits next to me in every single class. He talks to her because he has known her since they were 5 but he has only known me 2 months maybe less(long story) she used to have a crush on him and she notices him staring and is always like "oh he was staring at me again" but I don't know if it's her he is staring at or if it's me and she is noticing and making out its her he likes. I sent him a Facebook friend request at the beginning of last week because I figured it's the holidays and he would have forgotten by the time we go back tot school, I knew he would decline and he did. And I don't enact to ask him why and I don't want to be the one starting the conversation because he is a very cocky, smug, self loving person. And he'll just start teasing me about it. What do I do!? How can I tell he is looking at me and not my friend without making it too oblivious!?
