Miserable

Today make a week since I've had my miscarriage at 11.5 I'm still having light bleeding with cramps... When will the bleeding stop and I start having a period,my doctor and boyfriend thinks we should ttc again is it best to start birth control and just stop taking it or no birth control??? How soon after a miscarriage do you get pregnant again, and did you do birth control or not?
