Husband helping with kids

Does your anyone already have kids and does your husband help out my son is almost 2 and my husband won't do anything with him barley plays with him has never fed him never given him a bath is this normal or am I  Just expecting to much I thought he would want to do things with him but even getting him to hold him is like pulling teeth.... Anyone?
