Would you be mad?

Question

So me and one of my best friends are both pregnant, I'm farther along then her she just found out the sex of her baby and she knew for 3 days but the day of my baby shower she decided she was going to tell everyone the sex... Am I wrong for getting mad? I feel like my baby shower day is supposed to be about me and my baby and feel as if she wanted to make it all about her. Could just be my hormones making me a little more sensitive. This happened a week ago and me and her still aren't talking. What is your ladies opinions on this?

I'd have been mad too, she should've kept her mouth shut until after your party. But if she's your best friend, I also wouldn't let it ruin the friendship. Hopefully she apologized for being thoughtless at least.

I think maybe she was so excited and around people so she wanted to spill the beans but maybe she couldve waited or at least told you privately. I would talk to her. Your hormones are making you overreact a bit but its understandable. Don't let this come between your friendship; just be happy for each other :)

Was it more of an "announced it to the room as a whole" or was it more like someone asked what she was having, she answered, and then word spread? Because if she announced it to the room, then yeah you could be upset about it. But if a couple people just asked her what she was having and then word spread, that's not something she can control; it would be rude to ignore the question, and it wouldn't be her fault that people started turning their attention to that.

I would be mad, I think you should talk to her about it. She can get her own baby shower.

If this is "her thing" as in, always one-upping people, then you are rightfully annoyed. If she typically let's others shine for their big moments, then chalk it up to excitement and being in the moment and try to let it go. In any case, if she doesn't know she upset you then you should talk to her about it when you feel like you can discuss it calmly (without anger or tears :) )

My older sister and I are both pregnant with our firsts. I'm about 10 weeks further along. It's absolutely wonderful going through this together, but it's also extremely hard to find a balance between having our own moments and letting each other be the center of attention.
