Newborn fashion. What do I dress her in?

My worries are a little less serious. ;)

My 3 day old has an appointment with the pediatrician tomorrow. What do babies wear outside of the house? In the hospital and on the way home I put her in footed "sleepers" that snapped or zipped up. Are these supposed to be just for sleeping? Or can she rock them outside of the house? At home, I alternate between just diaper (for skin to skin during feeding) and swaddling.

I tried to put a onesie on her today and it was kind of a hassle and I don't think she was very comfortable. I feel like the only "acceptable" outfit for going out is a onesie with pants. Or maybe a dress. What do you think? I live in Florida if that makes a difference.

For Dr's app I do a fast and simple suit to get the dressed and undressed quickly so they aren't cold. So a footed zippered sleeper is easiest for that and at that age it is simply easier to put them into it then pants and a short and socks and all that.
Once my dd turned a month old I started dressing her because she uncurled herself by then and then could lay down without crying a lot like she did at first.
Now at 5m I leave her in the sleeper if we're staying home, like tomorrow, but if we go out I will usually dress her in pants, a shirt and socks and a sweater (live in Canada lol) but you should dress your baby how your comfortable. That's just how I usually dress my dd. I didn't start dressing my son in more then a sleeper till he was about 5/6m and started to move more, for him it was easier cuz he was a very pukey baby. Literally everything he'd puke on so I had to change him about 5 times a day so sleepers were just easier.

You're gonna have to strip her down anyway, I usually just take my son in a sleeper since it's easy to get on and off.

Just curious, is it a girl thing that everyone doesn't want to leave footies on during the day? I have three boys, all of them wore footies till they were 4-6 months. They're all winter babies so a onesie under shirt and footies were the warmest and most comfy option. My youngest is 4&1/2 months now and I've just started putting pants and tshirt if there isn't anything else at hand. But he's on the slim side and at this age their socks fall off and half the time his pants don't stay on and his tshirt rides up behind him... I don't really put separates on till they're sitting independently unless it's like a holiday/picture thing.

I'd put her in something you can slip her in n out of for the appt but also keeping her nice and warm. They'll have you undress her so they can check her out and weigh her. So a onsie should do and a blanket for when she's undress and the doc isn't tending to her yet so you can keep her warm.

My baby is 3 weeks tomorrow and I only just started dressing her in outfits other than footed pjs. Footed pjs were just so easy the first two weeks. We went to Drs in them.

My son is 6 months old and basically spent the first 5 in sleepers!!

For the dr I put my boys in a onesie (short or long sleeve depending on weather), leggings, and depending on weather a beanie and socks. They were 33 weekers, 2 months old now. But newborn socks still don't really fit their feet. I only put them on if it's super cold. At home they are naked most of the time, in just a diaper. Or in a onesie.

For a doctor's appointment I would do whatever was easy to get on and off. I that's a sleeper for you, let her rock it. For us it would always be a t shirt and a matching cloth diaper. My little one didn't start wearing pants until like 9 months because I couldn't stand covering up our cute cloth lol One piece outfits with zippers are also a personal fav for me.
