3 year old acting out?

I've been home with the new baby almost 4 weeks. My older son just turned 3 today. For the last 2 days he's been really acting out, he's been great up until now. He's also sick, so that could be it. But I'm wondering if anyone's older child had delayed acting out about a new baby, after initially being fine? Not sure what's going on with him.

I don't have older kids of my own but I do have an older stepson. We have him part time.

While he's been fine with us, I guess he's been acting out a bit at his mom's or being clingy. Asking her a lot if she's gonna have another baby. He's used to being an only child and now he's not, so it is a lot of big changes for him. What's been working for us is I take the baby and make sure him and his dad get personal time together to reinforce that he's not replaced. Just that his role of being the baby has changed to being the big brother. He acts out for his mom because she hasn't talked to him heart to heart to reinforce his role at her house hasn't changed. Instead she gets us or her mom to watch him all the time so she can go out. I guess she's on the prowl for a new bf and he's probably insecure about her having another kid.

Super super super normal! Kids that young have no concept of why they're not the center of attention anymore and it causes them to regress back in development. It will pass, I promise!! It's important to make them feel important so, if you can, make it a point to spend some one on one time with him every day.

my dads daughter (my half sister) is two and began acting out really bad once she sensed that her mom was pregnant. once she hit four months, her daughter cried and screamed all day long every single day. she constantly begged to be with her mom which was odd because she was usually a daddy's girl. I guess young children tend to go through feeling like they aren't the center of attention anymore. even my boyfriends 9 year old brother started acting out because his sister and I got pregnant at the same time. he started failing his classes and was acting out at home. it's normal.
