should I say something?

Question

I'm 12 weeks pregnant and currently working as a bar manager at a restaurant (I want to one day own my own restaurant/what I went to school for!)
Well this baby will come right after I finish college and the plan has always been to find a salary job in a different city/state after I graduate and my bosses are aware of that. 
My plan right now is to go on maternity leave shortly before the baby and to not go back to that job after, just move on to a different salary job. 
This will not change my timeline for leaving work but I'm assuming I should still tell my bosses at some point because I'm going to start showing at some point and it might be weird to not say anything? But when/how do I tell them if it's necessary? I don't want anything to change at work or need special treatment so I'm hoping nothing will change, I just really don't know how to go about this

Not sure what it's like in the bar world...but I have a pretty physical job, lifting boxes/shelves and stuff. I told them as soon as I found out. that way if something were to happen while I was at work they can't say they didn't know. If your boss already knows your future plans it shouldn't be a problem, they can't fire you because you're pregnant.  Best of luck!

I don't think you need to necessarily share your post-baby plans at the same time you share your pregnancy news, esp if you think it will impact your role at work. Your employer needs to know around the time you "announce" so in case anything weird were to happen (i.e. you faint & need medical treatment, you are asked to handle chemicals, whatever) everything is handled safely. Your employer doesnt need to know you dont intend to come back until right before, when she/he needs to start looking for a new employee.

When I told my boss, she was thrilled for me & didnt ask about my long-term plans. A few weeks after, I had the opportunity to let her know I would prefer to come back part time. I knew in order for her to make proper personnel decisions & maximize my chances of getting PT I wanted to tell her early. But you arent obligated to share it all upfront - just the happy news should suffice :)
