Finding confidence in your sexuality

How did you do it?

I've known for years that I am bisexual. I've "come out" a few times but people never took me seriously, and I've never worked up the nerve to "prove myself". A lot of this stems from heterosexual whatever bullshit that considers lesbianism more of a turn-on than it is two people with respectable sexual orientations. It terrifies me and gives me the skeebeyjeebies. *shivers* I don't want to deal with it! At all. Not interested, people. In my meager 23 years, I've dealt with enough leering pervy assholes, thank you very much!

Where did you find the confidence to stand true to yourself? I could use some of that strength!
