Help!!! Prescription Medication Questions? Help!!!

Question

I just found out I'm pregnant but I'm prescribed Xanax. I know I need to get off of it but it is the weekend so I cannot get a hold of my doctor. 
Has anyone had this type of experience? If so do you have any advice, or knowledge on this subject. 
Anything would be great. Thank you.

I'm not sure what dose you're on. Do not stop it abruptly. Taper down very slowly. Depending on your dose, you may be able to break each pill into quarters and start by taking 3/4 of a dose or by splitting the pill in half and try to take half a dose at a time.

Since you can't get to your doctor until Monday go to a local pharmacy and speak with the pharmacist. I wouldn't suggest just stopping and I wouldn't suggest splitting pills because pills are in pill form for a reason. Some are meant to release a certain amount of the drug over a period of time and splitting a pill or changing your dose on your own can have adverse effects on your sysytem. So just go to a pharmacist and get some advice until you can get to your doctor on monday. I hope this helps...good luck

You can't take it being pregnant. Call your Dr on Monday to get tapered down bc you can't go cold Turkey on it. Or they can switch you to something else that's safe during pregnancy
