. Warning if you're not a farm person you're not going to relate to this at all and probably won't even know what I'm talking about.
Okay, so I hatch chickens and I've been hatching chickens since I was like 6. I have FINALLY gotten my hens to SIT on their nests. This is the last set of eggs I am hatching in an incubator. But since I have gotten new chickens -I don't even know what kind they are, they are grey. They lay green eggs and the green eggs would NEVER hatch. They would live until hatching day and start hatching and die. Every single time, all of the green ones. So I had one green egg and I was determined to get this sucker here. Not for any particular reason other than I'm just stubborn and it had to happen. So, if you know about this stuff you know that there is an air cell they break and they can spend an entire day breathing the air from that and once they start to run out it encourages them to break the shell for air. So, I saw that it had broke the air cell. I heard chirps and everything. I waited an entire day, eventually when I candled it I could see that it was struggling to breathe, it was suffocating. So I poked a hole in the top of the egg. It started chirping again, but I could see veins- that's a sign to leave them the f alone because they need to absorb every drop of blood in the egg. I was worried about shrink wrapping so what I did was get a glass jar and put soaking wet pads and tampons in it and then I set the egg inside of the jar. I did this so that egg would have more humidity. I got home today and he hatched. He was a little sticky but he was very much alive and chatty and had absorbed everything he needed. He is currently in the incubator yelling at the other eggs and when he chirps they chirp back. I FINALLY GOT ONE LMAO I had to share this.
