Breastfeeding and Disc Degeneration Advice Needed Please!

Louise

I'm nearly 30 weeks pregnant at the moment and I want to breastfeed my little one. I have disc degeneration in L4 and L5 in my back, caused by a sporting injury. My back was doing really good but as my baby is getting bigger my lower back is starting to hurt.

But what I really need is advice from anyone who has or is currently breastfeeding and has degenerated discs as I'm in the process of buying a nursing chair. I tried out a friends nursing chair that reclined and rocked but it hurt my back.

How do you keep your back happy whilst breastfeeding? You you need to sit perfectly straight or can you have a slight recline in your chair? Any hints will be appreciated as I can't find any help on the internet.

Thanks!!
