Career instead of family

I'm 19 and I've recently discovered a passion for Aviation. I'm currently working on getting my Private Pilots license. I've never been very interested in having a family; instead I want a career and if I do ever want kids, I want to adopt. I'd also like my *future* husband to be a stay at home dad. What are everyone's thoughts on this lifestyle? Although I greatly respect the stay at home moms and the women who give birth to their children, a career is far more appealing to me.
