Membrane Sweep

My doctor gave me a membrane sweep today to try and gently induce (since I'm overdue and scheduled for a formal induction in a couple days). She says my cervix is still posterior and closed, so she couldn't really perform the proper sweep :( Does anyone have any experience with sweeps that were successful, even with a closed cervix?
