Getting an IUD

I've been on birth control for about seven months now. I take Loryna and it's making me very emotional and I have no sex drive. There are other common side effects too but these ones by far my are least favorites. I'm considering an IUD, and I'm not sure if a Paragaurd or Mirena would be best for me. Before starting the pill I used to have heavy periods and bad cramps (nothing I couldn't handle, I never had to call into work or school). I know Paragaurd makes your periods pretty heavy and unpleasant, but it contains no hormones. Mirena does contain hormones, but it helps your period pains. I'm very conflicted, and not sure what to chose! Has anyone here taken the pill and then switched to Mirena? If so, how was your mood and sex drive? Or has anyone here had Paragaurd? How were your side effects? Again I'm not sure which one to go with. I plan on talking to my doctor about which one would be the best for me, but I'd appreciate your experiences. Thanks again!
