Yes, it's called co-parenting. He's being an adult. He could of invited you also, but yes, he should of been there.

I wouldn't approve of that unless you were there or kids were involved! To me that's shady. Maybe others feel otherwise but that wouldn't never happen unless like I said you were there or the kids were there! They're ex's for a reason so to me if your not talking about the kids then there really isn't a reason to talk otherwise. Co parenting is good but hanging out seems odd!

Yes it is still the mother of his kids. At the end of the day he is still coming home to u. Think of it being the shoe on the other foot.

I think it depends. If he's got young children I don't see anything wrong with him helping them make a cake or getting her gifts or something like that. But I wouldn't want my SO involved with his ex too much. Like I wouldn't like him having dinner with her or something like that. But I do believe in making sure his kids see their parents getting along.

I think it's really important to celebrate her birthday together with the kids it's a great example for the kids.

Children are a commitment for life. Its nice when parents get along. As an adult I l8ve getting together with my parents as a famiky, and they'd been divorced for over 20 years. We did holidays together esp after there were grandkids

I think that's weird. Honestly if me and my boyfriend broke up, it would be really weird for him to come around on my birthday just because we have a kid. When a relationship ends, it ends. Most people don't still come around for things like that after a breakup.

I had this conversation with my so and explained what my wants were if we were to break up. I don't want him to do a dinner with me for my birthday as we would be moved on but a simple happy birthday or having our daughter make me a card would be ideal and appropriate.
