Would you trade your ring for a bigger carat?

I wonder if if women eventually got to the point financially that they would like, would they up size or trade their rings for something bigger. Me personally, I would never trade mine. My husband picked it for me and that was good enough.

I would not be opposed to a new ring as an anniversary gift (like 20/30 year anniversary), then my ring could be passed down to children... But I'm also totally fine with keeping mine forever.

My diamond was handed down from my in-laws, so no way. The only time I'll stop wearing it is when it's handed down to my daughter for her boyfriend to propose with someday

I wear a fake one and never take it off. I work on cars, and with kids and just would be too nervous about a real diamond getting lost. That being said, I wouldn't mind a prettier one(fake I mean. I found a pretty cute one on Amazon for a whopping 39.99$ I'm thinking of splurging on) !  Lol. But I'm cheap. I'd rather have a new washer or something my whole family will benefit from than a ring.

I don't think that I would trade it, but if I could use my diamonds and have them set into a new ring with a bigger diamond, then yes I would. Love my ring though.

I've upgraded three times! Our very first set was bought for us by his mom. We were 17&18years old. They were $30 for all 3 rings. When I got my first job I bought our white gold with tiny diamonds set. Then he worked in the oil field and decided to upgrade mine with his hard earned money. Recently we took our rings for inspection and were told that all 3 rings needed work done and would cost $600+ so he decided to upgrade. This time we picked a simple solitaire with simple bands. My ring has come a long way from a Cubic Zirconia to a diamond just like our marriage. We are currently 25&26 years old.

I absolutely love my ring but if we ever came across extra money, that wasn't needed for anything else, then yes I would upgrade and turn my original ring into a necklace or bracelet for my daughter unless she would just want the ring. I've always thought about that bc a lot of my family members have done that. My mom took her first wedding ring and put pieces of it in 3 necklaces for my 2 sisters and myself and we love it so I thought I might do that with my daughter.

Mines fairly big anyway, I feel like if it were bigger it would catch on stuff all the time. Plus it's an antique, I would never get rid of it, I might buy a new one I suppose, but then I just would wear it on a different finger

My husband and I wore sterling silver bands for 4 years. We had very little money when we were first starting out. At 4 years we both upgraded. I now have a carat solitaire with a plain white gold wedding band. I have no desire to size up in the future. This is all I want/need.

Mine isn't huge. The meaning and sentiment behind it are more valuable to me than the size or monetary value. I can't imagine trading it for something else.
