How often should I pump and for how long?

Well my little 7 week old boy gets really frustrated when I breast feed him I noticed he is more comfortable when i bottle feed him so  I pumped today for the very first time and got 4 oz in 10 mins but my bobs are supper sore how often do you ladies pump?

I've been exclusively pumping too. I pump about every 3 hours at work and longer stretches at home...4-6 hours depending on if I oversleep. Usually 6 times total per day. Pumping every 3 hours is painful for me too. I've been using motherlove nipple cream after and that seems to be helping.

15-30min every 2.5-3hours. But you have to have the proper flanges and suction setting. I have never had sore nipples from pumping. And only sore breasts after 5-6hour stretch of not pumping. They get to full of milk then.

I pump about 5 or 6 times a day. Supposed to pump 7 to 10 times in a 24 hr period, but I can't handle that. Sometimes even the 6 times is too much for me. I exclusively pump so I should do more, but I always get out a pretty good amount. I usually pump anywhere from 5oz to 13 oz in a single session.

Make sure you have the correct size flanges and that you aren't turning the pump to a high setting. You want to pump on low-med. and lube up your breasts/nipples with coconut oil before pumping. It creates a good suction and your nipples won't hurt. I pump about 5 times a day for 15-20 mins each. If my supply gets low, I "power pump" for a few days (google it).

I pump when I nurse & usually I stop pumping either when he's done or when it's been 20 mins. By then the bottle is already close to being 6oz.

During the day I pump every 2-2.5 hours. At night I stretch it out to 4 hours so I can get some sleep. My nipples started cracking and I've got some spots that look like they were bleeding.. I have flat nipples and I'm starting to get sore tho. I'm 21 days pp. I think I'm going to have to stretch it to every 3 hours during the day cuz i don't know how much longer my nipples will survive hahah 😁i even use lanolin cream afterwards.

Oh and I pump for 15-20 minutes. I don't increase suction and go the longer length if there's been a longer stretch between pumping sessions.
