I threw my sons phone and broke it.
Today I was at the park with my son and his cousin just having fun. He's 15 and his cousin is 4, but my sister needed me to watch her for a while and I figured we'd have lunch at the tables. Then a guy running around the track that surrounds the playground stumbles and falls on the metal border around a sandbox type thing. He's bleeding and sitting on the sidewalk obviously in pain. He was alone and I'm getting my niece to go help and I tell my son to go see if he needs help and I'd be over in a second.
On my way over my kid is just standing like 10 feet away and thankfully the poor guy didn't notice him yet. My get around my kid and he's taking a damn picture on his phone of this dude bleeding on the ground instead of helping him. I was furious and before I even thought about it I grabbed his phone and threw it at the metal thing, which is when the guy sitting down saw us. I told pointed at the guy and told my son to go help him stead of posting fucking pictures. He picked up his phone and did it. I am so furious. There's nothing online I hate seeing like pictures of people that need help and people just think it's hilarious. How would you feel if you needed help and someone chose to take a picture or video? Also it's a complete invasion of privacy! I can't believe my own son would do such a thing!!
The phone's broken, and he can be upset all he wants. I pay for the damn thing anyway and idc. I gave him a old cheapy phone that only makes calls and texts. I also grounded him from his skateboard and friends. Idk what to do at this point. I asked him if if knew why I was pissed and he answered correctly and says he's sorry but I think he's sorry because he got caught. Also my niece heard be saying fucking and might repeat it. So I have that to look forward to. Any advice?
