Depo shot & pull out

So I'm not really fond of letting my man finish inside me. Yes there's a part of me that wants him too but at the same time my paranoid side takes over. So I've been on the shot for about 3 weeks now. I waited a week before I tried to have intercourse and of course it was unprotected but I make my man pull out. So now everytime we have intercourse he pulls out and before doing it again he wipes off his stuff. Is that safe enough? Yes I know birth control prevents pregnancy but not all the way and that's what I don't let my man finish inside. So let me know yall's opinion!! Thanks
