Skin peeling on a newborn ?

So my baby girl is a week old today and her skin is peeling really bad on her inner thighs and hands n neck..... is this normal ? Is there anything I can put on it ??

My daughters feet peeled and they didn't need anything the skin just came off and there was nice skin underneath. Inside her diaper got a little red so we just let her lie around bare bottomed. If it's something else I'd ask the doctor.

Something as simple as a dab if olive oil would work wonders, u don't have to worry of any chemicals in other baby lotions

Its normal, dont try and rub it off or anything, it'll go away on its own. Its just bubs skin getting used to being out of a water environment. Maybe just gently apply sorbolene cream to stop bubs skin drying out excessively

My second son hand this, too. We used J&J extra moisturizing lotion and it went away in a couple days. We live in a dry climate.

Our first son didn't peel at all, but our second son did and it scared me half to death! I thought he was allergic to something (a lot of chemicals make me peel due to allergies) but apparently it is really quite common for newborns to peel.  It was explained to me that since they've been in utero so long the skin has excess moisture and sloughs off.  My son's lasted about 2-3 weeks mostly on his hands.
