Flea problem?

My puppy went to an (unknowingly) flea infested home over the weekend. About 3 weeks ago we gave him a spot on treatment which worked pretty well. He was nearly flea free. After this weekend he is crawling with them. Yesterday we tried a flea collar and it didn't work. Today he got his puppy first puppy shot. Would it be safe to spray him with flea spray? I feel terrible for the sweet boy, he is very itchy.

Update: I also gave him a flea bath yesterday.

Flea collars aren't too effective. I suggest a pill AND a shampoo treatment. Make sure when you pick them off of him you put them in the toilet or a cup of water so they drown-they're very hard to kill. If you're going to spray anything spread the carpets&furniture he lounges on

Talk to your vet. There are certain medications including flea collars that you aren't supposed to use in puppies under 4 months. Idk how old yours is, but by inference it sounds younger. Flea baths are great, but the vet should have a safe reccomendaion for the puppy's age.

They have carpet stuff too bc it'll get in the floor. U have to vacuum it up after u put the carpet stuff down. And use some dawn detergent to bathe him after the flea bath. Make sure u use a flea comb. It's in your home they multiply quickly so it may take more than once to rid them. Good luck

Chances are, your whole house is now infested. What you need to do is get flea powder and sprinkle it throughout your whole entire house. Make sure that when you bathe your dog you put the soap around his neck because the fleas will /flee/ ,lmao I'm terrible, to the dogs neck as soon as you start soaping him up.

Ask your vet for a flea preventative pill and it'll get rid of them and keep them off

Did you try just bathing him really well? Wash his bedding, to.

We use bravecto and it's worked like a charm, but o think he has to be 6 weeks or older.
