Getting fired for being pregnant?

I told a friend of mine at work yesterday that I was pregnant. And her response was "I hope they still let you work here after finding out you're pregnant." I'm a teacher at a child development center. I can't be fired for being pregnant, can I? What if they do? 😭

It's not legal and if they do you should contact a lawyer. If you haven't worked there for at least 12 months when you give birth you won't qualify for FMLA and they don't have to hold your job for maternity leave though. (Assuming you live in the US)

I got fired for being pregnant lmao. My boss said I could take a leave till after my first trimester was over & if i was better. I worked at Chipotle. I went on the website to look at my account & it said terminated.
