lazy eye?

Anyone have a baby with a lazy eye? I noticed my daughters left eye is slightly turned in more than her right one. You can mostly tell in pics. I'm going to talk to her doctor about it when we go in a few weeks. I was just wondering what they will do about it?

They usually try patching the good eye so the lazy eyes muscle have to work to focus in hopes it will straighten on its own, or they do glasses with a corrective lens

My daughters was like this and her pedi referred her to a specialist.  Sometimes it can be an illusion because the bridge of babies noses are kind of wide.  I took her to the specialist at 9 months and he was super rude to me and treated me like I was an idiot.  Fast forward and every time I would take her to the pedi or she would go with me to my doc appointments, the doctors would mention it.  I took her to another specialist when she was three and she does in fact have a lazy eye.  Hers was pretty slight, but we just had to patch the stronger eye for 2hrs/day for two months and it corrected.  I would get a referral to a pediatric ophthalmologist.  It didn't bother my kiddo to have the eye patched, but the younger the better I think

My sons one eyelid is heavier and more closed than the other.

I think she is perfect. I have a lazy eye & when I was a kid my doctor gave me exercises & recommended reading to help strengthen the muscles & it really helped. Now being 30 u can only really tell if I'm super tired or if I've been drinking. If it is in fact a little lazy it's not terrible & probably won't require surgery or anything drastic.

Our pediatrician said that this should be on every liat of common baby questions. We were 100% convinced that my stepdaughter had a lazy eye when she was about a year old (her aunt actually did have a lazy eye late required corrective surgery as a child).

Mention it to your doctor at the next appointment so that they can double check, but don't worry. Babies' faces aren't fully developed and they have squishy little noses still. The bridge of a baby's nose is ususally just not perfectly centered, and it tends to make one eye look a little wonky.

I think it's very normal for small babies to look like that. My son would look like he was going cross eyed a lot and I think it's just because their vision is still developing and they are adjusting to the sense of sight - they spend the first 9 months in total darkness! Congratulations by the way she is ADORABLE!!

Ok ... My girl had the same thing! First off you must know it is very normal, most babies will have this.... However if your doc believes it is more than normal he will refer you to a "baby eye doctor"....... Mine reffered me out...... At 3 months the eye doctor did a few tests but basically had to wait till 6 months to do furthur tests and see if it would get better or not...... At 6 months it was better but according to him it was still there a bit (i couldnt see it anymore)..... He said he will see her again at 1yr old for the final decision... If its better nothing will be done, but if its still not perfect yet she will either need glasses (she also has some trouble in her sight that would not matter unless the lazy eye doesnt get better) or she woyld need a patch to straighten that lazy eye...... I think its all beter now but still have 3 more months to go to know for sure.     Heres my story :).

My nephew had the same thing and it corrected itself eventually. Can't remember how old he was but definitely before he was a year. Sometimes though, baby will need to wear a patch to help it correct itself. It'll be okay! She's beautiful

They won't do anything until she is a little older. My niece had a slight lazy eye and they didn't do anything until she was about 3 or 4. But they had my sister and brother in law put a patch over her good eye for a couple hours a day so it strengthened the other eye

U can take her to be sure but most babies I know do that . Even my daughter used to cross her eyes me and my hubby got scared but it turned it out everything was ok .
