First off I am a dog trainer and everyday just about I end up having to talk to pet parents about pronged collars. These are not only the least effective training collar but they are cruel as well. Would you wear anything like this or use anything like this on your child? I think not. So why would you put it on your dog. If your dog pulls on the lead then train it on how to properly walk on a lead. And just because it's w big dog doesn't justify using a pronged collar on them. I'm all of 115 lbs and I can get full grown mastiffs to do what I want without the use of a pronged collar. Laziness is not a good enough excuse to use these on any living creature. There are plenty of other options: front clip harnesses, martingale collars, TRAINING YOUR DOG. And for any one who doesn't know what a pronged collar is here to go and here is what it can do to a dog. I personally believe that these should be removed from the shelves of all pet stores or at the very least only be available for purchase by trained and certified dig trainers.
