Late potty training

My three year old son is very smart but when I started potty training at 2, I had dad help out one time cause he was off work

I had him going every 30mins to a hour with no problems then when I ask dad to help, he put him on the toilet and left to get something when he got back my son was crying in fear trying to hold himself up cause he almost fell in...well after that he just didn't want anything to do with it

I'm pregnant with baby number four and I need him potty trained so I started up again when he turned three

He would tell me poop or pee but he'd do it way before he tell me then he'd do it in the shower

I gave up for a Lil bit and just started again, but I got everyone helping lol

Everytime my two older boys go to the restroom, I have them take him

And it's kinda working but then I ran out of pull ups and was going crazy on what a mess it'd be then I got a bright idea that I can put my over night pads in his underwear just in case any accidents

And it's working, really good

My question is what are some crazy things you did to potty train your Lil ones?
